@pmeunier I just want to let you know that my issue is solved and has nothing to do with what Frank described. My $PAGER is set to less --chop-long-lines --quit-if-one-screen --tabs=2, and the culprit is --quit-if-one-screen, which is not common, but it is quite useful IMO. So, the log is shown and closed immediately, as expected, but for some reason the text doesn’t remain on the screen, as it does when using the Git log
