Hi! Welcome here! I’ve been really slow on this project lately because of other professional commitments, but I’m getting back to it now. Feel free to ask for help. The foundational crates of Pijul (libpijul, sanakirja) are probably not the easiest bits of Rust code to contribute to, because the type system of Rust doesn’t match 100% what we want to do in Sanakirja, and because of a lot of performance considerations: actually, making Pijul efficient wasn’t easy at all.
